It has its origins in the 17th century, when inns and post offices were established in various places. Documents show that the innkeeper Lorens Rottenberg received help from the farmers in Fleninge in 1660 to rebuild the severely damaged inn after several wars. The present building was erected in 1810. The inn was previously housed in other buildings in the church village. The main buildings still reflect the architectural style of the early 19th century.
