Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Staff was very friendly and did their best to make our stay pleasant. They did change our room to a larger one after we complained about missing shower curtain/door which would mean water all over the bathroom floor (which we later found out is the norm in lower-range hotels in south India). They can call a Bajaj cab ride for you if you ask.

Negative: Limited breakfast food selection and no beverages, though they will bring you tea or coffee (milk-based) if you ask for it. Questionable cleanliness, with fingerprints on all door edges, some hair left over. They are using mothballs (naphtalene-like pills) in all drains, and this odor mixes with the sewage stench through bad (or perhaps missing) siphon traps. If you close the bathroom door, it's OK in the room. We had a problem to pay by card during checkout, tried 3 or 4 different cards including Revolut which worked everywhere else, and VISA embossed credit but they all timed out on their terminal, had to use cash for which they arranged a cab to an ATM. They were however sure to modify the bill to match up the amount shown as approximate on Booking, which cost us 40% more than their ordinary prices.
